Off the Market: 807 St. George's Road

This great stone house on St. George's Road in Roland Park never even made it to market before it was sold!

So sorry that there aren't more images of this terrific house!

A Visit to 5504!

I was fortunate to be invited to visit friends for lunch last week and it was an amazing experience. I first mentioned 5504 here, in 2023.

The house is rather simple from the exterior, built in stone, with lovely details around the front entrance, both from the inside and the outside.

When I asked the homeowner who had done all of the painting, he told me "Happy Hands at Home" which took me a minute to understand that they had done all of the work themselves!

The house is filled with beautiful artwork, gorgeous furnishings and incredible musical instruments.

I loved the murals in the dining room, which were framed by silver leafing.
But honestly, it was the painted ceilings in the house that blew my mind.

Thanks so much to my friends for a delightful afternoon!

On the Market: 3305 Bancroft Road

Bancroft Road is just a few blocks long, starting (or finishing) at Cross Country Boulevard. The house at 3305 Bancroft Road is currently on the market with a price cut of $210,000, bringing the price down to $990,000.

This house is similar to ones in Guilford, with features including the downspouts as a design element framing the front.  Sadly, the house has been "rode hard and put away wet" as they say.

The interior is pretty ghastly, and we counted 16 beds! In order to fit all of those beds, there are bedrooms everywhere.

And oddly, the terrace off the second floor is listed as a theatre.

I am very curious as to whether this house was something other than a family home. It's devoid of any decoration or personal items, and they certainly haven't staged it to sell.

Fortunately, many of the original details remain, especially in the bathrooms, including the below-grade tub!
And what looks like the original deco-style railings.
Honestly, the rest of the house is fairly dire. Take a look for yourself and hope that whoever buys it restores it to its original elegance.

The listing is here
